Make it interactive.
Editorial websites, explainable simulations and small digital worlds that let visitors test a thought rather than just scroll past it.
IN THE WORK → AGENCY MACHINE · WORLD ENGINEEXPLORE DIGITAL WORK ↗VOL. 001 / THE LIVING ATELIER
We build interactive places for curious minds. Part design studio, part research lab, part sensory playground.
An independent practice by Sahil Tayal. Real experiments, unfinished questions, useful things.
Between a research question and a working tool. Between a screen and a story. Between an emotion and something you might one day wear. The method changes with the medium; the commitment to clarity does not.
Editorial websites, explainable simulations and small digital worlds that let visitors test a thought rather than just scroll past it.
IN THE WORK → AGENCY MACHINE · WORLD ENGINEEXPLORE DIGITAL WORK ↗Careful explainers, research translations, concept maps and learning tools that separate what we know from what we propose.
IN THE WORK → IDENTITY–ACTION GAP · SYNTHEXPLORE RESEARCH ↗Experimental scent narratives, emotional expression through fragrance and a developing future for House of Venus.
EXPLORATION → OLFACTORY CATHEDRALEXPLORE SCENT ↗02 / THE IDEA TRANSLATOR
A tiny working example of the studio method. Pick an idea and an expression; see how the deliverable changes. The combinations are illustrative design prompts, not promises or automated consulting.
TAKE YOUR OWN IDEA TO THE BRIEF DESIGNER ↗An interactive surface where visitors change constraints and observe why a good intention may or may not become action.
Important distinction: a learning model is not a psychological assessment.
Selected work from the public Sahilverse catalogue. These are independent experiments and explorations, not invented client commissions. Destination links are labelled conservatively.
A small interactive investigation of the friction between intention and action. Visitors can change a situation, not merely read a theory.
Question. Self-description is often mistaken for behavioural evidence. How could an interface make constraints easier to notice?
Approach. Turn intention and friction into manipulable inputs, then show the implications without pretending the output is a validated behavioural diagnostic.
Visitor experience. An adjustable behavioural friction experiment on the canonical homepage connects visitors to the larger Agency Machine world.
Artifact. Interactive experiment and linked explanatory material.
Evidence and status. A public educational prototype, not a claim of measured behavioural change. Published in the creator's V17 index; destination availability not independently confirmed.
An inquiry into why a person's self-description, intentions and observed actions can drift apart when context imposes friction.
Question. Motivation stories can hide environmental constraints, cognitive load, opportunity and the costs of change.
Approach. Make assumptions legible; distinguish proposed models and propositions from empirical confirmation; expose counterexamples.
Visitor experience. A reading trail through the connected agency and action works, with questions that can be challenged rather than simply believed.
Artifact. Research explainer, proposition map and related interactive worlds.
Evidence and status. Public hypothesis-building work; no peer-reviewed validation claimed here. Published in the creator's V17 index; destination availability not independently confirmed.
An atmosphere-led thought experiment that asks what happens when an idea is translated into an imagined sensory landscape.
Question. Scent is difficult to transmit through a screen; visual metaphors can mislead unless their limits are stated.
Approach. Use language, colour, rhythm and memory cues to invite curiosity; separate poetic notes from real formulations and safety claims.
Visitor experience. An illustrative mood composer on the main Sahilverse homepage links into the olfactory branch.
Artifact. Sensory storytelling study and linked educational exploration.
Evidence and status. A concept and educational experience, not a product launch or commercial client case. Linked from the creator's public homepage; destination availability not independently confirmed.
A practice in separating what someone did from what we think it means, and in noticing evidence of reciprocity.
Question. Certainty about other people's motives can outpace the evidence, particularly in ambiguous situations.
Approach. Present observational and interpretive choices with different implications, rather than one omniscient answer.
Visitor experience. An on-page example contrasts inference and observable fact; a related world extends the exercise.
Artifact. Public demonstration and conceptual field notes.
Evidence and status. An educational lens; not therapy or relationship diagnosis. Linked from the creator's public homepage; destination availability not independently confirmed.
A laboratory for asking how small rules can generate surprising possibilities across a fictional world.
Question. Systems thinking often looks abstract until visitors can inspect a consequence and change a rule.
Approach. Design interactive, explainable systems and visibly label what is modelled versus what is known.
Visitor experience. Narrative branching, systems-led thought experiments and cross-world exploration.
Artifact. Listed digital experiment and learning pathway.
Evidence and status. Conceptual prototyping rather than a client commission. Listed in public atlas; deployment not independently confirmed.
A creative investigation of what new questions emerge when ideas from separate disciplines meet.
Question. A folder gives information a home; a network can give it meaningful neighbours.
Approach. Link concepts editorially and explain the relationship, rather than treating a dense graph as evidence of insight.
Visitor experience. Curated connections and an exploratory route back into Sahilverse's living atlas.
Artifact. Experimental knowledge-world concept.
Evidence and status. An evolving public piece; no claim of a validated knowledge engine. Listed in public atlas; deployment not independently confirmed.

04 / THE FUTURE SMELLS INTERESTING
Alongside its web experiments, the studio explores perfume as a medium for identity, memory and expression. House of Venus is a developing fragrance identity—not a claim that every concept is already available to buy.
Who is this for? What is genuinely unclear? What would be useful if we understood it better?
A paper, a screen, a simulation, a scent—different materials reveal different things.
Prototype early, expose the assumptions, test the interaction, invite criticism.
Publish with limitations, source trails, editable files and what we learned.

You don't need a perfectly formed specification. This little designer helps turn a half-formed notion into a shareable starting point.

Good fits: educational experiments, carefully designed web experiences, research translation, interactive storytelling, speculative olfactory projects.
Not offered yet: enterprise-scale agency delivery, scientific validation of behavioural models, clinical advice, regulated fragrance manufacturing or guaranteed commercial outcomes.
The studio is an independent creative practice by Sahil Tayal, working across psychology, organisational behaviour, technology, storytelling and scent. The work grows from a straightforward conviction: an idea becomes richer when people can enter it, change something, and examine what happens.
Interaction is not evidence by itself. A thoughtful simulation can clarify a concept without proving a theory. A beautiful visual can open a question without answering it. A fragrance narrative can express feeling without making a scientific promise. Those boundaries are part of the craft.
There is room here for whimsy, serious methods, strange crossovers and imperfect first versions. There is also room for accessibility, honest acknowledgements, privacy, and the discipline to say: this isn't finished yet.
The aim is not to scale a fictitious agency overnight. It is to make useful, interesting work in public—and collaborate where the question and medium genuinely fit.
A practical, illustrated guide to asking better commissioning questions, choosing media, seeing risks and agreeing what success means.
